A life without passion

I had an interesting talk with a friend recently.  She was trying to figure out where she needed to be serving in the Church.  I asked her what her passions were-  what she enjoyed to do.  I was able to relate all to well to her answer.  “I don’t have any.”  Here we are taught regularly about the greatest passion of all.   The sacrifice of Christ for us.  We are to be embracing that and accepting it as our own.  And yet, we live lives that are void of passion and enthusiasm.  We pound out the day to day grind doing our best to be obedient to the commandments of God.  What’s missing?  How do we as Christians regain that passion of Christ?  How do we make the switch to living a passion-filled life?  Is it God that gives the passion if we only ask?  Or is our passion to find with God’s direction and blessing?  I’m looking for Biblical answers not health and wealth preaching.  Some questions to dig for.
